Charming decor adds a unique touch to the hotel.
The parking situation was frustrating, with tight maneuvering required to fit into the narrow spots. Some lightbulbs were out in my room, made the dim bathroom lighting a grooming nightmare. Lastly, I found the noise from the square disruptive.

Very helpful friendly staff, brilliant location right in the middle of the old city.
Nothing really - perhaps paint colours a bit vivid.

The hotel was fairly clean and the location was great and fantastic close to restaurants and bars. The breakfast was high quality, I appreciated it. The comfort king room was airy. All members of the staff were very-very nice.
Their breakfast was a bit pricey.

Amazing stay in Angoulême 🇫🇷
Super nice team, and my room was big with a fresh and clean bathroom. Brekkie was a feast, I loved the fresh oranges to squeeze!
Only downside was the slight noise from the main square, but it's part of the vibe, I guess.

The service at Hotel du Palais was incredible. The man working at the reception desk was welcoming and incredibly helpful. My brother and I stayed on two different nights and both times our rooms were clean and charming. The hotel is very affordable and in a great location in the the city center. I would defintely recommend and stay there again if I happen to travel through Angouleme.
The continential breakfast was a bit pricey.

This booking was a complete nightmare! The information of Booked.net is completely untrue and someone needs to check it out. We had been held up in traffic and didn't arrive until 9:30pm. However we had telephoned ahead to say we would be late and were told that would be fine. We arrived and they refused to let us put the car in the car park - the place was hectic as it was saturday night and the centre of town! The entrance to the hotel was like a bazaar with rugs and blankets all over the entrance up for sale. Our room was outside the main area, behind a fire door at the top of a fire exit entrance and stairs which was blocked by travel cots and camp beds, piled high. When went into our room it had no electricity - the lights didn't work and it smelled musty and foul. The receptionist was very apologetic and seemed to be working on her own. All in all it was a very horrid experience and we quickly found another hotel, refusing to stay there.

The staff were really helpful. My room was actually bigger than expected and the bathroom was super clean. Breakfast was really good, especially the fresh orange juice, it was fun using the juicer! Great spot for walking to nearby cafes too.
Only hiccup was the parking situation, it was a bit tricky to maneuver into the spot. I could hear some noise from the square at night.
